Sidney K. "Sid" Wiestling

Sidney K. “Sid” Wiestling, age 60, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at York Hospital. Born March 11, 1962, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of Patricia Martin Wiestling and the late Terry L.  Wiestling.

Sid was a 1980 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School and a 1984 graduate of The Penn State University.  He most recently had worked as a benefits coordinator for R. H. Sheppard Co., Inc. in Hanover, PA. Sid was an Eagle Scout, member of the VFW and a life member of the Nittany Lion Club. Selfless in nature, Sid was known to care for and put others before himself. He cherished time with his family and grandchildren. In his spare time Sid enjoyed PSU football games, where he held season tickets, since 1984, doing yard work, pool days, going to the beach, kayaking, taking a walk, listening to music, and sitting down with a good book.

In addition to his mother, Sid is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Holly Ferry Wiestling, whom he married on September 22, 1984; two sons, Adam C. Wiestling (wife Kelli) of Greencastle, PA and Evon P. Wiestling (Ms. Andrea Sperduto)of Surfside Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Crue and Maci Wiestling of Greencastle, PA; three siblings, Wendy Main (Doug), Troy Wiestling (Deb), and Chad Wiestling (Jen Fedeli);  a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and LouAnn Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 1 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Donald Stevenson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13 from 6 – 9 PM in the funeral home; there will be no viewing prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the charity of one’s choice.
