Roy Edgar Bingaman Jr.

Roy Edgar Bingaman, Jr., age 90 of State Line, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Cadia Health Care. Born May 31, 1932, in Antrim Township, PA, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Edna Wallech Bingaman, Sr.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Bingaman served honorably during the Korean Conflict, he was an atomic veteran. Mr. Bingaman was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he held many offices, a Charter Member of the State Line Ruritan, life member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association, and the VFW Post 6319. Roy enjoyed making soup for church, helping at church, helping to maintain the State Line Community Park, fishing, and hunting, and going to camp in Potter Co.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Ellen Hornbaker Bingaman, whom he married March 28, 1959; two sons, Robert Lee Bingaman (Patricia) of State Line, PA and Rodney A. Bingaman (Madeline) of Lock Haven, PA; a granddaughter, Haley I. Bingaman (Nicolas) of Waynesboro, PA; two step-grandchildren, Curtis and Linda Bowers; five step great-grandchildren; and a sister – in – law, Carolyn W. Bingaman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bingaman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Wayne Warren will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
