Ronald L. Nicarry

Ronald L. Nicarry, age 81, of Greencastle, PA passed away at his home on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Born January 4, 1942, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Wayne A. and Frances Oberholzer Nicarry.

Mr. Nicarry was a 1959 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. He went on to work at the former Grove Manufacturing, serving as Director for over 40 years. In addition, he and his wife were owners of the former Hillcrest Drive In. Mr. Nicarry was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greencastle, PA, the Mt. Pisqah Lodge #443, where he served as a Worshipful Master, the VFW Post 6319, and a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. No. 1, all in Greencastle, PA. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 517 in Mercersburg, PA, Moose Lodge International, and a life member of the NRA.  An avid collector, Mr. Nicarry sought wood carvings, guns, and antique cars. He cherished going to the cabin and the family beach house. He also enjoyed playing cards and travelling in his early retirement years.

Surviving is his wife 59 years, Barbara L. Goetz Nicarry, whom he married on October 5, 1963; two sons, Curtis L. Nicarry (wife Diana) of Greencastle, PA and Rick L. Nicarry (wife Penny) of Greencastle, PA; a grandson, Brock Bricker (wife Tiffany) of Greencastle, PA; and a brother, Wayne F. Nicarry (wife Hattie) of Hagerstown, MD.

Funeral services and entombment will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 6 -8 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rescue Hose Co. No. 1, 842 S.
