Robert Shank Bollinger

Robert Shank Bollinger, age 81, of Great Cacapon, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. Born in Chambersburg, PA, on March 15, 1941, he was the son of the late George W. and Eunice E. Shank Bollinger.

 Mr. Bollinger was a 1959 graduate of CASHS. He went on to work as a mechanic, then as a truck driver for many years, and finally as an Office Equipment Repair Technician. After retirement, Bob continued staying busy working as a custodian and on the grounds crew of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Great Cacapon, WV where he was also a member. He enjoyed being an amateur radio operator and was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsman Association, where he was regularly a top shooter and was awarded the longest shot in 2013.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Norma Jean Bollinger; two daughters, Susan Timmons (husband Rodney) of Greencastle, PA and Tina Finley (husband John) of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Keith Timmons (wife Julie) of Greencastle, PA, April Wenger (husband Jared) of Greencastle, PA, Jenean Finley (husband Charlie Thompson) of New Holland, PA, and Abigail DePaulo of Fayetteville, NC; 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Lucille Yoder of Athens, TN, Vera Wadel (husband Kenneth) of Shippensburg, PA, and Glenn Bollinger (Monique Deck) of Chambersburg, PA; and a sister-in-law, Wendy Bollinger of Fayetteville, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Bollinger.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 10 AM at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201, where Pastor Larry Tomlinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 6 – 8 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to be used for Emmanuel Missionary Endeavors may be made in his name to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5299 Central Ave., Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
