Richard "Dick" L. Hall

Richard L. “Dick” Hall, 85, of Greencastle, PA passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.  Born January 5, 1937 in Martinsburg, PA he was the son of the late James G. Hall and Helen D. (Russell) Hall Imler

He was a graduate of Loysburg High School with the Class of 1954.  Dick then went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957.  He was employed as a truck driver for various companies throughout his career.  He retired in 2016 after many years of trucking.

Richard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and the American Legion Post 373, Greencastle.  He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joan E. (Fry) Hall who he married August 1990; three children, Sandy Hall, Brenda Mellott, James Hall (Tammy); a step-son, Ronald Snyder (Susan) ; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-siblings, Ronald Magruder (Rona), Wilbur Imler (Rose), Mary Grace Greenleaf (Karl) and Steven Imler (Vicki); and a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-father, Harry C. Imler; son, Richard “Rick” Hall, Jr.; a brother, Kenneth Hall; and two step-siblings, Eileen Swope and Darrell Magruder.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May, 4, 2022 in Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA.  Burial with military honors provided by Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.    

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning in the funeral home.
