Rhoda Levan Romane Barnhart

Rhoda Levan Romane Burcker Barnhart age 90, of Waynesboro, PA  entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 8, 2020. Born January 4, 1930, in Reid, MD, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Fannie Hull Burcker.

Mrs. Barnhart was a 1947 graduate of the former Washington Township High School.  "Vonnie" was a simple women rooted in her faith in the Lord.  She found joy in the small things in life. She spent much of her time reading, sewing, cooking, baking, or gardening. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family.

Surviving are six children, Nancy L. Burkett of Rouzerville, PA , Donna K. Barnhart of Waynesboro, PA, Robert F. Barnhart, Jr. (Mindy Carson) of Waynesboro, PA, Roger L. Barnhart (wife Sharon)of Quincy, PA, Lennis E. Barnhart (wife Ruth) of Waynesboro, PA, and Perry L. Barnhart of Waynesboro, PA; six grandchildren, Missy Beltz (husband Dany), Tobey Barnhart, Melodie Barnhart, Samuel Burkett (wife Sarah), and Amanda Wagner (husband Gary);  six great-grandchildren;  two great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Rainy Addlesberger and Betty Freshman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Barnhart, Sr. in 2004, a grandson, Clinton “Rusty” Burkett, Jr., and three siblings, Thelma Bingaman, Charles  Burker, and Marie Glee.

Private services are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA. Private interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
