Ralph E. Daugherty

Ralph E. Daugherty, age 67, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Meritus Medical Center. Born February 14, 1955, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late William and Janet Myers Daugherty.

 Mr. Daugherty was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed hard work, puzzles, riding his trail bike, and tinkering around the farm, however his most cherished time was spent trying to help others in the community. He was a former member of the Two-Top Ruritan Club, spent many years volunteering for them after his membership. He was an avid supporter of the Franklin County 4-H and charity auctions.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 22 years, Kathleen A. Flannery Daugherty, whom he married on July 23, 1999; two loving daughters, Jennifer L. Kuhns (husband Neil) and Amanda S. Reese (husband Brett); stepson, B.J. Christy (wife Nicole);and nine cherished grandchildren, Sumer, Kaylie, Sean, Gage, Brody, Trenton, Liam, Justin, and Brooklynn. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Thelma Decker and Lois Fetterhoff.

Private graveside services will be held in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 1-3 and 6-9 PM at the Mercersburg Mennonite Church, 10060 Buchanan Trail West, Mercersburg, PA 17236. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. The family suggests contributions in lieu of flowers be made in his name to Two-Top Ruritan Club, 12270 Two Top Rd., Mercersburg, PA 17236.
