Philip Heister Obituary

Philip M. Heister, age 53 of Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly at the Chambersburg Hospital on Thursday morning January 23, 2020.

Born February 21, 1966 in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of Jackson Lee and Lena (Dolt) Heister of Greencastle. He married his wife Barbara E. (Young) Heister on October 1, 2006.

Philip was a carpenter by trade and employed as the property manager for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was an umpire for many years for the State Line Little League. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening.

He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Phil graduated from Wheaton, Maryland High School.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are his children Ashley, Erica, Alisha, Ashton, Emily and Erin; seven grandchildren; two sisters Melissa Cooke and Mareta Kauffman and his dog and best friend Bear. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

A private celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Antietam Humane Society 8513 Lyons Rd. Waynesboro, PA 17268. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
