Naomi M. Martin

Naomi M. Martin, age 98, of Hagerstown, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Mennonite Fellowship Home in Hagerstown, MD. Born January 26, 1923, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Naomi Martin Hege.

She was a homemaker most of her working years, cherishing time spent with and caring for her family. Mrs. Martin was a member of Conococheague Mennonite Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Lois Horst of Hagerstown, MD and Velda M. Ghattas (husband Asad) of Hagerstown, MD; son-in-law, Elam Weaver of Shippensburg, PA; 13 grandchildren; and 58 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice S. Martin in 2008; daughter, Ella Mae Weaver; foster daughter, Anita King and her late husband, John, son-in- law, Norman Horst, grandson, Todd Ghattas, two sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 10 AM in the Conococheague Mennonite Church, 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21740, where the Ministers of Conococheague Mennonite Church will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow in the adjacent church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to the Mennonite Fellowship Home, 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
