Marcilyn Myers Sipes

Marcilyn Myers Sipes, age 71, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 26, 2021. Born August 2, 1950 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Lester and Marilyn (Barrick) Myers.

Mrs. Sipes was a 1968 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She went on to work for Corning Glass for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making wreaths, going to concerts, and traveling with her family and friends.

Surviving family are two daughters, April Barr and her husband Brian of Waynesboro, Karla Cunningham and her husband Marc Blagg of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Evan and Jillian Barr and Jade Blagg; and three brothers, Dave Myers of Deque, CO, Jeff Myers (wife Carol) of Greencastle, PA, and Ray Myers (wife Wanda) of Greencastle, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Myers and Steven Myers (stillborn).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11 AM at Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Rd., Mercersburg, PA 17236. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 7 – 9 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA and on Saturday, September 4 at the above church from 10 – 11 AM. Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
