Kenneth Martin Witmer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Martin Witmer, age 72, of Greencastle, PA at York Hospital on April, 23, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. Born January 15, 1951, “Kenny” was the son of Cornelia and Omar. Kenny was born in Hagerstown, MD and grew up in Greencastle, graduating from Greencastle-Antrim High School in 1969.

His hobbies included hunting and coin collecting, as well as being a yard sale enthusiast. Kenny worked at Nitterhouse Concrete for 35 years. In retirement, Kenny could regularly be found enjoying his usual breakfast at McDonalds and tinkering around the house. Kenny was always very personable, striking up conversations with anyone and everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Kenny is survived by three children, Joseph Witmer (wife Jeneen) of Greencastle, PA, David Witmer (wife Jennifer) of Waynesboro, PA, and Rachel Witmer (husband Robert Tibbits) of St. Thomas, PA; a granddaughter, Adalyn Witmer, and his brother, Robert Witmer (wife Terry Roxanne), and his canine companion, Neira. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Omar, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11 AM at Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Brian Black will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in Shank’s Church Cemetery. We invite all who knew him to celebrate his life with us. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society at www. donate .cancer.org.
