K. Louise Tice

K. Louise Tice, age 84, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Born May 4, 1936, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eldon M. and Alma K. Myers Coldsmith.

A 1954 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School, she went on to work as a switchboard operator for United Telephone. Most recently Mrs. Tice was a Bus Driver for the Greencastle-Antrim School District for 26 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church, where she participated in the Bible Study Group and was a Member at Large in the past. Louise enjoyed her family and friends, spending time with grandchildren, crafts, gardening, and playing cards. Described as the glue that kept everything together, Louise always said, “everything will be okay”, she will be greatly missed by her family.

Surviving are three children, Aprile S. “Susie” Strait (husband Daniel) of Greencastle, PA, Douglas M. Tice (wife Kelly R.) of Greencastle, PA, and Karen L. Tice Barry of Greencastle, PA; six grandchildren, Megan D. Strait, Holly K. Cox, Dustin J. Barry, Heather M. Barry, Amanda L. Tice, and Brooke A. Statler (husband Jake); seven great-grandchildren; two siblings, Gladys Doyle (husband Ed) of Greencastle, PA and Mary Jane Carbaugh (husband Lanny) of Greencastle, PA; and a step-brother, Roger Ulrich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Kathryn Coldsmith and her husband, Marvin S. “Muff” Tice in 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 10 AM at Ebenezer United Brethren Church, 3661 Williamson Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor David Grove will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to the Ebenezer United Brethren Church, 6986 Guitner Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225.
