Jessie M. (Cordell) Horst

Jessie M. Horst, age 71, of Mont Alto, PA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, May 23, 2022. Born January 2, 1951, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Catherine Stumbaugh Cordell.

Jessie worked as a silk screener for Regency for 15 years, and had helped with her daughter’s daycare. She enjoyed antiquing, spending time with her family and her pets as well as listening to old music, and faithfully supporting Amazon, with her shopping habits.

Surviving is her husband of 28 years, Gary Horst, whom she married May 29, 1993; two daughters, Sherry R. Vulgamott (Luther) of Hedgesville, WV and Jody D. Stine (Frank) of Waynesboro, PA; a stepson, Chad C. Horst (Missy) of Waynesboro, PA, nine grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, and Luther Vulgamott, Dylan Jacobs, Evan, Katelyn, and Owen Stine, and Tyler and John Horst, two sisters, Susan Elliott (Kenneth) and Cathy Scofield, two nephews, two nieces, one step nephew, and one step niece.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Cordell.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10 AM in Brown’s Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, PA, where Rev. Fred Keener will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
