Evelyn L. (Ensminger) Bowders

Evelyn L. Bowders, age 95, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Laurel Lake Nursing and Rehab. Born March 30, 1927, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eldin Wilbert and Minnie Alice Palmer Ensminger.

Mrs. Bowders worked as a seamstress most of her working years. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, and cooking; however she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, Linda Thompson (husband William) of Waynesboro, VA and Dale Bowders of Boothwyn, PA; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Bowders in 1996 and six siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 1 PM at Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
