Elizabeth Martina (Buck) Spigler, “Martie”, age 84 of Greencastle, PA, surrounded by loved ones, went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mom, grandmom and great-grandmom.

Born November 5, 1936 in Newark, DE, she was the oldest of three children born to Earl Victor Buck and Marion Leita (Tweed) Buck. Martie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Victor Buck and her sister Nancy (Buck) Perez. She graduated from Woodstock High School, in Woodstock, VA.

Martie married John “Sonny” Spigler on August 30, 1957 in Williamsport, MD and was the loving mother of three children, Donna K. (Spigler) Metcalfe, (Larry E. Metcalfe); Susan T. (Spigler) Dangler; and Brian W. Spigler (Sue A. Spigler).

Known to her grandchildren as Grandmom, she would babysit and even take them on vacation to their trailer in Delaware. She spoiled her grandchildren as much as possible. Her six grandchildren are Jeremy C. Metcalfe (Erin), Jonathan C. Spigler (Allison), Kathleen Elizabeth (Metcalfe) Thomas (Bill), Matthew R. Dangler (Megan), Morgan A. (Spigler) Horowitz (Alex), Quinton M. Spigler (Lakin).

Martie was also a Great-Grandmom to Adelyn M. Metcalfe, Christian M. Metcalfe, James E. Thomas, Molly Anne Horowitz, Charlotte Elizabeth Spigler, and Harper Elizabeth Thomas.

Martie enjoyed having a large garden which enabled her to do canning and you would also see her with her floppy hat mowing the lawn. She enjoyed crocheting afghans which she loved to give away to brighten one’s days with. She will be forever loved and forever remembered.

A private memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday April 16 at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home in Greencastle, PA with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Cedar Ridge Ministries Home 12146 Cedar Ridge Rd, Williamsport, MD 21795.
