Duffy W. Carbaugh

Duffy W. Carbaugh, age 48, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 2, 1974, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of  Dennis W. and Debra Myers Carbaugh.

Duffy was a 1993 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. Working as a painter, he worked for Jerr-Dan, JLG, and lastly Bowhead in Chambersburg. Duffy was the owner of the former Smokin’ D’s Roadhouse BBQ, and had also worked at Cold Springs Distillery part-time. He had a passion for cooking, barbequing, and  whiskey distilling. Duffy also enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, hunting, motorcycles, drag racing, and singing Karaoke.

In addition to his parents, Duffy is survived by his wife of eight years, Heather Shaffer Carbaugh, whom he married on August 17, 2014, his step daughter, Amayah Roberts, sister, DaLea Carbaugh of Greencastle, PA, nephew Taylor Nelson of Greencastle, PA, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Brady and Helen Carbaugh and maternal grandparents, Nathan and Geraldine Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11 AM at Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Rd., Mercersburg, PA 17236, where Pastor Japheth Nell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 6 – 9 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 and one hour prior to the service at the above church and address on Friday. Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
