Dorothy L. (Truax) Goetz

Dorothy L. (Truax) Goetz, age 88, of Greencastle, PA and a resident of  ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg, PA died Friday, April 16, 2021 in the nursing home.

Born May 10, 1932 in Waynesboro, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Julia M. (Lingamfelter) Truax.  She married her husband Jack H. Goetz on October 7, 1950. He died on August 15, 1997. She was a 1950 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Dorothy was a homemaker, wonderful mother, grandmother and loved her family. She had a great sense of humor and was young at heart, and had a love for all animals, and quite often took in strays.  Her hobbies and interests included being outdoors, planting flowers and riding Harleys with her husband Jack.

Surviving family are two sons,  Chester  H. Goetz of Greencastle, Greg  E. Goetz and wife Sharon of Hagerstown, MD;  one daughter , Angelia E. Myers and husband Robert of State Line, PA; daughter-in-law, Valerie Goetz of Greencastle; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:  a son Jeff L. Goetz in 2019, great-grandson Cameron Myers, brother Walter Truax Jr. and sister Evelyn Mills.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 21 at 2:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA. with Pastor Mike Kenney officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle.
