Dawn Marie Hernandez

Dawn Marie Hernandez, age 56, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 30th, 1964, in Roswell, NM, she was the daughter of Mary M. Hafer Lape and the late Rodney E. Lape.

Dawn was a graduate of the former Williamsport Area Community College, now known as Penn State College of Technology. She worked in retail sales for a number of years, lastly at the AC&T in Greencastle for the last 11 years. She enjoyed drawing, crafts, dancing, shopping, spending time with family, and walking her dog with her husband at the Park.

Surviving is her husband of 19 years, Gasper Hernandez, whom she married March 18, 2002; three children, Justin Nguyen (wife Jennifer) of Chambersburg, PA, Kendra Romero Torres (husband Noe) of Hagerstown, MD, and Emily Nguyen of Greencastle, PA; four grandchildren, Madison Nguyen, Jonathan and JoAnna Romero, and Elias Lohn; and two siblings, Todd and Scott Lape. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan Wahler and a brother, Michael Lape.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
