Daryl Ray Henry

Daryl Ray Henry, age 77, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. Born March 11, 1944, in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar and Mary Roth Henry.

Mr. Henry was a member of the 1962 Class of Greencastle-Antrim High School. He went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. Mr. Henry continued his service working for the Department of Defense until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Henry was a member of the VFW Post 6319, American Legion Post 373, Mt. Pisgah Lodge 443, Waynesboro Country Club, and the Waynesboro Tigers. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed golf, baseball, football, playing football for the Waynesboro Tigers, coaching Little League, and Midget Football.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy Henry, whom he married on May 31, 1969, daughter, Kristen Uccellini (husband Fred III) of Greencastle, PA, granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Madison, brother, Harold Henry of Hagerstown, MD, and sister-in-law, Annabelle Henry of Greencastle, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Helen Overcash, Lucille Taber, John “Dick” Henry, and Owen Henry.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Mr. William “Bill” Shilling will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 6-9 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
