Clifford H. Rotz

Clifford H. Rotz, age 92, of Greencastle, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his home. Born January 28, 1931, in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clayton L. and Catherine N. Niswander Rotz.

Mr. Rotz was a 1950 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. He went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army. Mr. Rotz worked for the former Frick Company in Metal Fabrication for a number of years, later retiring in 1997. Mr. Rotz was a member of Faith Temple Church in Hagerstown, MD. He enjoyed baseball, gardening, and fishing.

 Surviving is his beloved wife of 39 years, Ruth A. Beeler Rotz, whom he married on October 15, 1983; three children, Barry C. Rotz (wife Cindy) of Waynesboro, PA, Daryl D. Rotz of Harrisburg, PA, and Karen G. Nilson (husband Craig) of Clear Spring, MD; two step-children, Sondra J. Mowen (husband Rick) of Greencastle, PA and David T. Miller (wife Brenda) of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and 12 step great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Iva Rotz.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Ronald Lynch will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home above. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church Cemetery.
