Charles R. Baumbaugh

Charles R. Baumbaugh, age 86, of Greencastle, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Monday, September 27, 2021. Born April 23, 1935, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice B. Shindle Baumbaugh.

Mr. Baumbaugh was a 1952 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School, he went on to graduate from Penn State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He also served honorably in the USMC Reserves. Mr. Baumbaugh worked for the former Fairchild Industries and lastly for Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, MD, where he retired in 1991 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Grace Bible Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and camping. Mr. Baumbaugh also enjoyed antiquing and attending family functions and his granddaughters sporting events.

Surviving are two children, Judy L. Holian (husband James) of Middletown, MD and Dale R. Baumbaugh of Greencastle, PA; three granddaughters, Amber L. Kuhns (husband Michael) of Gettysburg, PA, Jill C. Crone (husband Paul) of Frederick, MD, and Brittany M. Holian of Atlanta, GA; and four great-grandchildren, Ellyana, Easton, Adeline, and Johanna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Jane Bear Baumbaugh in 2014.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 2 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Herm Fisler will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225.
