Betty Jane (Angle) Lehman

Betty J. Lehman, age 98, formerly of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Chambers Pointe Health Care Center in Chambersburg, PA. Born July 18, 1925, in Welsh Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late G. Fred and Nora Emma Angle.

Mrs. Lehman was a 1944 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She worked for 50 years at the former First National Bank of Greencastle, where she retired as Vice-President in 1989. Mrs. Lehman served on the bank’s Board of Director’s until 2001. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle and a life member of the Greencastle Antrim Lioness Club. She also attended Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church of Fairview, MD.

The last of her immediate family, she is survived by a niece, Saylor Hummel and a nephew, Fred Schenck and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Lehman on March 30, 2015, and four sisters, Evelyn Schenck, Mabel Phillippy, Pauline Brewer, and Mildred Bernhardt.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA 17225.
