Betty E. (Everhart) Myers

Betty E. Myers, 93, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Saturday morning, December 25, 2021 at The Shook Home. Born August 21, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Fred L. Everhart, Sr. and Pauline Corderman Everhart. Mrs. Myers had been employed at the former McCrory's in Hagerstown; the Greencastle-Antrim High School cafeteria; and she last worked at Carl's Drug Store for 19 years. She had last attended the Grace Bible Church and had previously attended the old Calvary Bible Church, both of Greencastle. She was a former member of the Auxiliaries of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and the Greencastle Sportsman Association. She enjoyed playing cards and played in two card clubs. Her husband, Donald R. Myers, whom she married June 30, 1948, preceded her in death on July 26, 2016.

She is survived by her daughter Sherry K. Mellott and husband Dick of Greencastle; her son, Dennis L. Myers and wife Judy of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Angie Shindle and husband Mike, Marti Pine and husband Richie, and Justin Myers and wife Deb; four great-grandchildren; five great-great­grandchildren; her brother, Richard Everhart of Hagerstown; and her sister-in-law, Beverly Cleary of South Carolina. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris L. Wiles and Helen I. Myers; and two brothers, Fred L. Everhart, Jr. and Robert L. Everhart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA.  Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Pastor David Mummert and Rev. Herman Fisler will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
