Betty Jane (Robinson) Daley

Betty Jane (Robinson) Daley, age 84 of Greencastle, PA died Wednesday morning April 25, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past several years.

Born on August 23, 1933 in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Pearl Olive (Clary) Robinson. She married her husband Ellis Franklin Daley on March 31, 1951 in Mercersburg. He died on January 2, 2018.

Betty retired after 25 years employment at the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg. She also worked at Musselman’s in Biglerville, PA. Betty enjoyed playing bingo, baking, doing puzzles, and shopping. She was a good mother and wife and enjoyed sitting on her home’s porch with her husband.

Surviving family are one daughter Judy A. Mentzer and husband Lauren of Greencastle, two sons, Garry L. Daley of Hagerstown, MD, Ellis E. Daley of Greencastle, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five sisters, Ida Strait, Sally Ann Hege both of McConnellsburg, Mary Ann Bivens of Mercersburg, Penny Peck of Ohio and Alda Bertaux of North Carolina.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Charles F. Daley Sr. on June 23, 2009 and by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 1 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Rev. Leon Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Shanks Church of the Brethren Cemetery near Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
