Betty J. Carbaugh

Betty J. Carbaugh, age 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Waynesboro, PA on February 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John Ellsworth Cromer and granddaughter of the late Iva Pearl Zimmerman, who raised her.

Betty attended Greencastle Antrim School District. She worked as a operation room tech at Waynesboro Hospital for over 20 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed camping, bird watching, fishing, boating, taking road trips, and her flower gardens.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Brady L. Carbaugh, Jr., whom she married in 1959, two daughters, Susan Fahnestock (husband David) of Chambersburg, PA and Sharon Carbaugh and two grandchildren, Isaac Fahnestock (Cheyenne Burgett) of Greencastle, PA and Michelle Casey of Greencastle, PA. In addition to her father and grandmother, she was preceded in death by a brother, John and sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Newlin.

Services and private interment will be in Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery, with Pastor Japeth Nell officiating.
