William C. Heacox, Sr.

William C. Heacox, Sr., age 95, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at South Mountain Restoration Center. Born April 6, 1925, in Altoona, PA he was the son of the late Harry Hice and Anna Sellers Heacox.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Heacox served honorably during the Korean conflict. He continued his service working as an Ammuntion Inspector at Letterkenny Army Depot until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family.

Surviving is his wife of 73 years, Betty M. Rice Heacox, whom he married on July 26, 1947; five children, William C. Heacox, Jr. (wife Linda), Thomas E. Heacox (wife Chun), Ronald L. Heacox, Anita F. Schooley, and Rita J. Bingaman (husband Rick); 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
