Twila Evelyn Hatcher

Mrs. Twila Evelyn (Lambing) Hatcher, age 92 of Greencastle, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning September 6, 2015.
Twila was born April 7, 1923 in Alverton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Jessi (Gartley) Lambing. Her loving husband, Vince Hatcher whom she was married to for 54 years passed away in 2001.

Twila was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church for 45 years. She was president of her Sunday School Class for many years and loved singing in the choir. She was also very active at the Greencastle Senior Center, where she enjoyed exercising, tap dancing, line dancing, playing cards, eating and enjoying the company of her lunch friends. She inspired many with her zest for life.
She was one of the Rosie the Riveters, having worked in an airplane factory during World War II.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee Poper and boyfriend Elmer Haapala; six grandchildren, Angela Burgess and husband Tom, Anna Strouse and husband Andy, Jessica Carter and significant other Eli Plantz, Jennifer Keefer and husband Kelley, Janet Poper and fiancé Josh Billet and Josh Poper. She also is survived by eight great-grandchildren, Darius, Antwoine, Bradley, Faith, Kalen, Jensen, Kellen and Cole.

She was preceded in death by a son Bradley Hatcher, great-grandson Christian Beaver, eight sisters; Ruth Cornilius, Marion Auld, Berle Strandburg. Alvarine Hill, Jean Muir, Cathleen Craig, Vivian Hernley, Phyllis Sherbondy and one brother Eddie Lambing.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 10 at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastors Kristopher Sledge and Guy Camp officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to the State Line United Methodist Church P.O.
