Sarah Jane Johnson

Sarah Jane Johnson, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Chambersburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born January 4, 1937, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John R. And Sarah Kennedy Byers.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and going to church. She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church, Greencastle, PA.

Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Lester (husband Daniel) of Thomasville, PA and Waneta Todd (husband Eric) of Greencastle, PA; three grandchildren, Gary Johnson of Ft. Loudon, PA, Tammy Christensen of Nashville, TN , and Kimberly Witmer (husband Anthony) of Mercersburg, PA; three great-grandchildren, Nathanial Witmer, Faith Todd, and Sierra Witmer; and great-great grandmother of two. She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior E. Johnson; two sons, Gary Johnson at infancy, Ray Johnson; and a great-grandson, Chistian Todd.
