Robert S. “Bob” “Coach” Haley, age 74 of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at his home. Born in Canonsburg, PA on July 5, 1947, he was the son of the late George and June Clark Haley.

Coach was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and California University of PA earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves from 1970-1976. Coach played college football at the University of Maryland. He went on to coach at California University of PA for 14 years as Defensive Coordinator, Ringgold High School for four years as Defensive Coordinator, and lastly at Shepherd University for 14 years as Defensive Coordinator, where he retired in 2011. He was always proud of all of the team accomplishments at both Cal U and Shepherd.  He considered all those who played for him to be his sons.  In addition to coaching, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching sports, working out, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Hearn Haley, whom he married on December 14, 1985; his daughter, Hannah Haley; and brother, G. Richard Haley of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary C. Haley.

To honor Coach’s life, a future tailgate will be held in Celebration. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
