Raymond Barkdoll Oberholzer, Jr.

Raymond Barkdoll Oberholzer, age 76, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Born in Waynesboro, PA on March 14, 1950, he was the son of the late Raymond B. Oberholzer Sr. and Ruby Zeger Oberholzer.

Mr. Oberholzer was a 1968 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. He worked in car sales at Hagerstown Honda/Kia and at Frederick Motor Company, where he retired in 2021 from Frederick Motor Co. after 8 years. He enjoyed sports, fishing, golf, and baseball however, his most cherished time was spent watching his granddaughters play sports.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Murray Oberholzer; three children, Raymond B. Oberholzer III (wife Kendra) of Boonsboro, MD, Chadwick J. Oberholzer of Hagerstown, MD, and Christie A. Tyler (husband David) of Knoxville, MD; three granddaughters, Morgan and Addison Tyler and Brooklyn Oberholzer; and five siblings, Ramonna Dayley (Scott), Rebecca Schultz (Ray), Rosanne Lindsay (Arlen), Rayetta Spangler (Gene), and Rhonda McCelland.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Boonsboro Athletic Boosters, Inc., 10 Campus Drive, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
