Nancy J. Henry

Nancy J. Henry, 77, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. Born March 28, 1948 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. “Buss” Barnes and Jennie Naomi Stoner Barnes. Her beloved husband, Daryl Henry, preceded her in death on July 28, 2021.

Nancy was employed as a kindergarten teacher with the Greencastle-Antrim School District for 36 years until her retirement in 2006. After her retirement, she volunteered with kindergarteners for 19 years, 2025 being her last. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother (2nd mother to some), sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and a devoted teacher to many. She was compassionate, caring, nurturing, and giving. An animal lover, she was involved with the Old Home Week Dog Show Committee. She also was a Greencastle Lioness, and volunteered with the Blood Mobile. She enjoyed lunches and playing Bunco with other retired teachers.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Uccellini and husband Fred Uccellini III of Greencastle, two grandchildren, Madison Gayman and husband Myles, and Kaitlyn Uccellini; one sister, Karen Barnes, two sisters-in-law, Annabelle Henry and Pamela Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA 17225. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antietam Humane Society at antietamhumanesociety.org/donate/, or to Mercy House of Chambersburg at mercyhouseofchambersburg.org.
