Larry Douglas Kump

Larry Douglas Kump, age 78, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away on February 28, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Willis Theodore and Betty Ann Steinbach Kump.

Mr. Kump was a graduate of Hagerstown Community College and Frostburg State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was active in several organizations, including the Falling Waters Battlefield Association, Friends of North Berkeley Library, and Eastern Panhandle Business Association. Larry was a devoted member of the LDS Church. He was a prison case manager for Maryland State Corrections for many years, until retirement. Larry also served West Virginia proudly as a State Delegate, representing District 94, from 2010-2014, 2018-2020, and from 2022- to present.

Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Lynn Hess Kump, whom he married in 2018, two children, David C. Kump, and Sarah E. Daniels; two stepchildren, Christine Sprang and Sabrina Saliba; two grandchildren, Jack and Cece Sprang and siblings, Linda Warren (Rick) and David Kump (Jason); and other extended family members.
