Joanna M. Eby

Joanna M. Eby, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Homewood Living in Williamsport, MD. Born May 5, 1940, in Maugansville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Edgar M. and Dorothy Marie Showalter Keener.

Joanna was a graduate of Hagerstown North Highschool. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was later employed in Home Care with the Washington County, MD Department of Health for 10 years until her retirement. Joanna was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church. She had been active in the sewing circle and was a member of the Hagerstown Rescue Mission Auxiliary. Joanna enjoyed sewing and music.

She is survived by two children, Kenrick Eby and wife Carlene of Chambersburg, PA, and Camilla Ancell of Hagerstown, MD; six grandchildren, Justin Eby and wife Alicia, Kevin Eby and wife Tara, Cathy Eby, James Ancell, Kelsi Daniels and husband Ryan, and Jacob Ancell; six great grandchildren, Julian, Race, Allison, Cheyenne, Aaron, and Samuel; and her sister, Dana Talhelm and husband Bobby of Hagerstown, MD. Aside from her parents, Joanna was preceded in death by two sisters, Suzie Michael and Wanda Albert.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, 13343 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, PA 17225. Pastor Dennis Stutzman will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M.
