Gregory L. Seylar, 73, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on January 19, 1953, in Waynesboro, PA to the late Jay Linn and Janet Ruth (Barnes) Seylar.
Gregory was a 1970 graduate of James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, PA. He went on to complete the journeyman trade program at Landis Machine. He then worked as a Machinist/Manufacturing Engineer with AMP Inc. which later merged with Tyco. He attended Grace Bible Church in Greencastle, PA. Throughout his life, Gregory owned several antique tractors and was a little league coach in Greencastle for several years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, camping, reading Civil War books, being on his farm in McConnellsburg, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (Moats) Seylar of Waynesboro, PA whom he married on July 13, 1974; son Cory Seylar (Danielle) of Chambersburg, PA; daughter Laurie Crown of Greencastle, PA and her children Nathaniel Seylar and Ella Crown; son Scott Seylar (Amy) of Greencastle, PA and their children Adam and Benjamin Seylar; brother Ken Seylar (Alice).
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Road, Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Nathan Hykes will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the church above. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
