Frederick John Hauff

Frederick John Hauff, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Chambersburg, PA Hospital. Born on April 30, 1944, in York, PA, he was the son of the late Glenn Eugene Bailey Hauff and Virgina Lee Hauff.

Fred graduated from Northwood High School in 1962 and went on to attend West Virginia University on a football scholarship. He held various positions over the course of his career, mostly in either property management or real estate sales, before retiring in 2009.

Fred enjoyed being with friends and family, especially at the holidays, and he loved being around his grandchildren. He was a kind, humble man that was always easy to get along with. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and sitting around a good fire in the winter.

Fred is survived by his two sons, Scott Hauff (Kelly) and Robert Hauff (Paige) and four grandchildren Dylan Hauff, Madeline Hauff, Olivia Hauff, and Vivian Hauff. Fred is also survived by his two sisters, Virginia Hauff Oshel and Claudia Hauff Snider.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Johns Hopkins Hospital for the love and support the staff showed Fred’s beloved wife of 50 years as she battled cancer there.
