Fay Elizabeth Royer Routzahn

Fay Elizabeth Royer Routzahn, age 92, a resident of Quincy Nursing home passed peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Quincy Nursing Home. Born in Shady Grove, PA on July 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Arabelle Neikirk Royer.

Mrs. Routzahn was a 1951 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She worked as a bank teller for 20 years, at Farmers and Merchants Bank, retiring in 1995. Mrs. Routzahn was a lifelong member of the Long Meadow Church of the Brethren, and a prior member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and Mason Dixon Region, where many memories were made with her husband, Bob, and friends. In her younger years, Fay found pleasure in square dancing and bowling. One of her greatest joys in life was being a wife and mother. She found great satisfaction in cooking for all who sat at her table. She loved the outdoors, the sunshine, her gardens, and some good ol’e gospel music.

Surviving is her son, Charles R. “Bud” Routzahn (Cheryl) of Union Bridge, MD; grandchildren, Cory Tucker (Emily), Brady Routzahn (Carrin), and Brittany Routzahn (Corey Younker); four step-grandchildren, Matthew Osterhouse (Gabriele), Morgan Hastings (Britton), Mitchell Osterhouse (Mady), and Marcus Osterhouse (Alice); 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Freehling: and son-in-law, Gregory Harp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Routzahn in 1997, daughter, Pamela J. Harp, and sisters, Doris Scott and Hazel Strite.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Elder Doug Blackston will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
