Doris R. Myers

Doris R. (Hollingshead) Myers, age 76, of Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon August 12, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born April 13, 1941 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (Crider) Hollingshead. She married Lester D. Myers Jr. on January 28, 1961.

Doris had worked for 29 years at the former Regency Thermographers of Waynesboro and in her earlier years worked at the former Waynesboro Knitting Mill and Dorbee’s Manufacturing of Hagerstown. The past ten years, she had been working at Giant Foods on Wayne Ave. in Chambersburg,

Doris enjoyed sewing, traveling, cooking, shopping, going to auctions, gardening, her flowers and when asked to do something, she never said no.

Surviving family in addition to her husband of 56 years are one son, Steven W. Myers and wife Kimberly D., one daughter, Brenda Lee Miller and husband Michael E. of Hagerstown, four grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Alicia, Kyle, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Aubrey Hollingshead, Fred Hollingshead and a sister Patsy Carbaugh.

A graveside service will be held on Friday August 18 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown with Rev. Gene Renner officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle.
