Dorcas Timmons Eby Showalter

Dorcas Timmons Eby Showalter, age 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 26, 1936, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Newton F. and Nancy Ebersole Timmons.

Mrs. Showalter worked at the former Stanley company in Chambersburg as a seamstress, until its closure. She then began working as a housekeeper. She was a member of Mercersburg Mennonite Church and the sewing circle. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

The last of her immediate family, she is survived by 14 nieces and nephews; four stepchildren; and numerous step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Eby in 2009 and her second husband, Irvan Showalter in 2016; and four siblings, Edward, Daniel, and Nathan Timmons and June Lehman.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 10 AM at Mercersburg Mennonite Church, 10060 Buchanan Trail West, Mercersburg, PA 17236, where Pastor David Possinger will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the above church and address.
