Betty M. (Rice) Heacox

Betty M. Heacox, age 92 of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Hagerstown, MD on January 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Myrtle Bingaman Rice.

Mrs. Heacox was a homemaker most of her adult life, however she did work at the former Stanley company and Potter’s Restaurant in her early years. She enjoyed camping, gardening, sewing, and time with family.

Surviving are her five children, William C. Heacox, Jr. (wife Linda), Thomas E. Heacox (wife Chun), Ronald L. Heacox, Anita F. Schooley, and Rita J. Bingaman (husband Rick); 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and 7 siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Heacox, Sr. in 2020, a brother, Robert Rice and sisters, Dolly Fritz and Bernita Moore, and a grandson.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA.
