August "Gus" Pflieger

August “Gus” Pflieger, age 90, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, November 24, 2025. Born on March 30, 1935, in Ingolstadt, Germany he was the son of the late August Pflieger and Maria Kreuzer Pflieger.

Mr. Pflieger was a U. S. Air Force veteran, serving honorably from 1956 – 1960. He was trained in Germany as a Tool and Die maker. Mr. Pflieger worked for 33 years, as an aircraft Mechanic for the former Pan-Am Airlines, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, flying airplanes, reading about WWII history, and tinkering around the house.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 61 years, Bonita “Bonnie” Mae Weller Pflieger, whom he married September 25, 1964.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
