Mickey Laverne Freeman, age 72, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Quincy Nursing Home. Born May 8, 1946, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Virginia Lonas Freeman.
Ms. Freeman was a 1964 graduate of St. Maria Goretti Catholic High School. She was employed in different capacities all her life. She and he mother had operated a craft store and rebuilt Mini Coopers. She worked for former Congressman, Goodloe Byron. Mickey worked as a Washington County District Court Traffic Clerk, and lastly retired from Susquehanna Bank. She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church in Greencastle, PA. A Washington Redskins fan, Mickey had made a museum with in her home to honor them. She was written about in many medical journals, illustrating her life as a modern day miracle with all of her orthopedic issues.
Surviving is her brother, Richard Freeman and his wife, Su Freeman of Ocala, FL; close friends, Karen and Mike Pierce and Debbie and Joe Chukla; her furry friend, Gracie; and numerous other friends, and god children.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 2, 2018 at 7PM at Otterbein United Brethren In Christ Church, 146 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor David Rawley will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
