Mark D. Eckstine

Mark D. Eckstine, age 61, of  Ridge Road. Waynesboro, PA died Sunday May 13, 2018 at his home following an illness since March 2017.

Born January 30, 1957 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy and Camilla Susan (Kline) Eckstine. He married his wife Marlene M. (Martin) Eckstine on September 4, 1977.

Mark worked as a meat cutter at the former Rocky Ridge Farm Market in State Line for 20 years and then worked for 20 years at Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg.

Mark was a member of the Upton Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed letter writing and going on gospel cruises. He was a 1975 graduate of North High of Hagerstown.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are three children;  Marlynda (Brett) Hazel, Marwin (Megan) Eckstine, Marcilyn (Wilberto) Perez, all of Greencastle; one granddaughter, five grandsons, three step-grandchildren, two brothers; Allen Eckstine, Walter Eckstine; two sisters, Ruth Pulieri and Nancy Mowen, special Aunt and Uncle, Miriam and Harold Eckstine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Edna Eckstine and a grandson Alex Ryan Hazel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 17 at 10:30 AM at the Upton Church of the Brethren 8490 Warm Spring Rd. Upton, PA with Pastors Garnet Myers, Dennis Sollenberger and Duane Hawbaker officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Thursday one hour before the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the New Hope Shelter Inc. 25 South Potomac St. Waynesboro, PA 17268.
