Louella M. (Carey) Murray

Louella M. (Carey) Murray, age 93, a resident of Parker House of the Quincy Retirement Community and formerly of Greencastle, went into the peaceful presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her residence.

Born February 21, 1927 in Kauffman Station, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (Ridenour) Carey.

She had worked at the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg and at Corning Glass Works of Greencastle. Louella was a member of the Greencastle Church of the Brethren. She was a 1945 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Surviving family are six daughters, Nancy Bumbaugh of Mont Alto, PA, Lana (Tom) Jones of Amberson, PA, Pam (Mike) Stockslager of Greencastle, Debra Everts of Mercersburg, Pat (Juan) Mendez of Ft. Loudon, PA, Nina Risensinger, Chambersburg; two sons, Dale (Debbie) Murray of St. Thomas, PA, David (Bonnie) Murray of Chambersburg, 17 grandchildren, 24 great- Grandchildren,  3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nevin L. Murray on February 24, 1999, her second husband, Wayne R. Murray Sr. on August 28, 2005 and by her brother Eldon Carey.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 8 at 11:00 AM at Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg with Pastors Fred Keener and Leon Yoder officiating. There will be no public viewing. The family would like to thank the Parker House Staff and the SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice Staff, for all their love and patience shown to our mother. The family requests the omission of flowers with memorial contributions being made to the Greencastle Church of the Brethren 36 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA 17225.
