Larry Enfield Smith, age 74, of Greencastle, PA died at 10:30 AM Friday, July 20, 2018 in his home.

Born April 30, 1944 in Cumberland Maryland, he was the son of the late Philip and Margaret (Akers) Smith. He married his wife Sidonna K. (Bartles) Smith on January 28, 1989.

Larry grew up on a farm and was originally from Artemas, PA.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, worked at the former Arnold Graphics plant in Hagerstown, MD and last worked and retired from the Internal Revenue Service Center in Martinsburg WV.

Larry was a member of the Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church near Waynesboro, PA and was a member of the Greencastle American Legion.  He was a graduate of Everett High School in Everett, PA.

He enjoyed NASCAR, going to auctions, collecting John Deere items and tractors and spending time with his family and grandchildren and he loved the special family vacations to Myrtle Beach.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are daughter, Lisa Spencer and husband Scott of Stephens City, VA, and their daughters Grace Spencer and Sarah Spencer; daughter, Stacy Beeler and husband Shane of Greencastle, PA and their children Jesse Beeler and Hannah Beeler; one son, Jamey Smith of Greencastle, PA and his children Austyn Smith and Caitlyn Smith; one sister, Etta Mae Tewell and husband Jim of Chaneysville, PA; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Archie Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 26 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Pastor Blaine Lougheed officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00- 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church Teen Ministry 14807 Hollowell Church Rd, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
