Karen E. (Helfrick) Oberholzer

Karen E. (Helfrick) Oberholzer, age 57, of Greencastle, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She had been battling cancer for the past three years.

Born August 9, 1960 In Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of Anna (Myers) Helfrick of Marion, PA and the late Asa Helfrick. She married her husband David L. Oberholzer on June 4, 1983.

Karen worked in customer service at the First National Bank in Waynesboro for 19 years and then last worked for 15 years at BB& T Bank. She was a 1978 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School.

Karen was a member of the Five Forks Brethren In Christ Church near Waynesboro. She enjoyed vacationing at Myrtle Beach, going on walks, cooking and shopping. Karen loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Surviving family in addition to her mother and husband are one daughter Kristen (Cody) Shank of Marion, PA, one son, Derek Oberholzer of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Ethan Shank and Ava Shank;  five brothers, Doyle (Terry) Helfrick of Waynesboro, PA, Duane Helfrick of South Carolina, Dale (Carol) Helfrick of Mercersburg, PA, Delbert Helfrick of Marion, PA, Dallas (Rebekah) Helfrick, Mercersburg, PA; two sisters, Kay (Roger) Bard, Fayetteville, PA and Kim (Doug) Hoffman, Middleburg, PA

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 24 at 2:00 PM at the Five Forks Brethren In Christ Church 9244 Five Forks Rd. Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Five Forks Brethren In Christ Church 9244 Five Forks Rd.
