Joseph W. "Joe" Mummert

Joseph W. “Joe” Mummert, age 73, of Bino Rd. Greencastle, PA died Saturday morning March 25, 2017 in ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg.

Born October 18, 1943 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Rozel and Florence (Finafrock) Mummert.

He retired after 38 years employment as a welder with Grove Worldwide (now Manitowoc Crane) of Shady Grove. Joe attended James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg. He was a member of the Upton Full Gospel Church near Greencastle. Joe loved his family, his church and his work. In his retirement, he enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales and he especially enjoyed his cat Rosey.

Surviving family are one brother Alvin Mummert of Greencastle, four sisters, Mary Shew of Greencastle, Mildred Cramer of Mercersburg, Susan Brough of Mercersburg and Rhoda Faye Cottrell of Greencastle and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lucille Summers and a stillborn brother and stillborn sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 31 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Ruth Ebersole officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia United Brethren Church Cemetery near Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Upton Full Gospel Church C/O Pastor Ruth Ebersole 7670 Valley View Lane Greencastle, PA 17225.
