Isabelle Lucille (Myers) Statler

Isabelle Lucille (Myers) Statler, age 91, formerly of Baumgardner  Dr. Greencastle, passed away  at 10:00 AM Sunday morning,  June 10, 2018 in The Shook Home, Chambersburg, PA, where she has resided for the past six years.

Born Oct. 11, 1926 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl Fredrick Myers and Mary Katherine (Hughes) Myers. She married her husband David William Statler on July 1, 1948. He passed on March 12, 2011.

Isabelle worked at Holstein's Variety Store in Greencastle, Stanley Co. in Chambersburg and finally Corning Glass Works in Greencastle, retiring in 1987.

She enjoyed shopping at yard sales, collecting costume jewelry, cut glass, teddy bears, doll babies, butterfly related items and bus trips to Lancaster County with family and friends.

Surviving family is one son David E Statler, Greencastle; two grandsons, Brian Statler and wife Renita, Clear Spring MD, Daniel Statler, Williamsport MD; two great-granddaughters Hannah and Abigail Statler, Clear Spring, MD; niece Beverly Montgomery and husband Daniel and family of Greencastle, and numerous other nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Robert William Myers and an infant sister Mary Katherine Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 15 at 10:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, with Pastor Vernon Isner officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to The Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
