Harry A. Miller

Harry A. Miller, age 91, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Diaken Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD. Born in Tyrone, PA on April 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Briggs Miller.

A 1946 graduate of Tyrone High School, Mr. Miller went on to serve honorably in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He had also attended the Girard School for Boys prior to graduating. Mr. Miller worked as a programmer for Bell telephone of PA for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed reading working around the house, racecars, and acquiring and collecting toy tractors and cars.

Surviving is his companion of 35 years, Jan Eppleman; two children, Vicki L. Summers of Pottstown, PA and Scott A. Miller of Souderton, PA; five step-children, Dick Eppleman (wife Missy) of Chester Springs, PA, Beth Poligo (husband John) of Collegeville, PA, Rob Eppleman (wife Michelle) of King of Prussia, PA, Leila Ikeda (husband Craig) of Harleysville, PA, and Emilie Beskar (husband Paul) of Harleysville, PA; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Schill Miller on October 7, 1977, and a brother, Robert Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 2 PM at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Robert Cook will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to one of his favorite charities the American Cancer Society, Greencastle Relay for Life, P.O. Box 198, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
