Fred E. Hafer

Fred E.  Hafer, age 82 of Greencastle, PA. died Tuesday evening January 29, 2019 in his home. Born May 21, 1936 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alvin F. and Mary B. (Kalbflesh) Hafer. Fred married his wife Olivia M. “Dolly” (McLaughlin) Hafer on March 21, 1959. She died on October 27, 2011.

Fred was a lifelong farmer and also worked for 30 years at the former Servomation Inc. of Chambersburg. His hobbies and interests included farming and hunting. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1959- 1962.

Surviving family are one son, Brain E. Hafer and wife Joanne of Greencastle, two granddaughters Jessica Hafer and Carly Hafer.  

A graveside service will be held on Monday February 4 at 1:00 PM from the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg with Pastor David Grove officiating.
