Evelyn L. (Zullinger) Pensinger

Evelyn L. Pensinger, age 93, of Greencastle, PA passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA.  Born May 15, 1924 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas D. “Tom” and Miriam Louise “Polly” (Miller) Zullinger of Greencastle. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Harold B. Pensinger in 1985.

She graduated from Greencastle High School Class of 1942 and the Hagerstown Business College in 1946.  She worked at Letterkenny in 1942 for the US Army Engineers during the construction of the Depot and returned after working in the private sector to Letterkenny in 1961-1965 in the Transportation Division.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Greencastle, member of the Red Hats, Homemakers and Loyal Daughters, all of Greencastle.  

Evelyn enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, and gardening.

Surviving family include her daughter, Gloria Walker and husband John of Fayetteville, PA.; grandson, Tony Pugliano and wife Amy, and great-grandson Michael; son, Jon Pensinger and wife Valerie, of Greencastle, PA., and two granddaughters, Marley and Delaney of Greencastle, PA; step-daughter Joyce Berger, her husband Don of Greencastle, PA, their children Kandee Spain, husband Jim, and their children Kelsey and Joshua who reside in North Carolina, Steve Berger and wife Kathy of Charlottesville, VA, and Scott Berger of Harrisburg, PA.

 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 23 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church 1186 Jason Dr. Greencastle, PA with Rev.  Barbara Barry officiating.  Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no viewing but the family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 – 10:30 AM. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church 1186 Jason Dr. Greencastle, PA 17225. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
